Sci-fi must be a genre that Tom Cruise really likes. Minority Report, Oblivion, War of the Worlds and now, he has one more sci-fi feather to add to his cap - Edge of Tomorrow.
We covered the teaser of this new sci-fi film a while back, and now a fresh trailer has been released, fleshing out more details of what we can expect from this action-filled sci-fi extravaganza. And if you think this is a totally original script. Think again.
Edge of Tomorrow is actually based on an existing sci-fi work, though not from anywhere in the Western world. Instead, the movie originates from a book (turned manga) from Japan called All You Need is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. The premise is almost the same (we’re not going to spoil the movie) with one exception: the main protagonist in the novel and manga is Japanese. Who didn't see that coming, then?
Still, it’ll be interesting to see just how much the movie has changed from the source material. Till then, enjoy some heart-pounding action scenes from the latest trailer, and if you’re really curious, you could check out the scanslated manga of All You Need is Kill here.
