LG's 21:9 curved monitor is a multitasking dream

If you're lucky enough to be at IFA 2014, you'll get to eyeball this display marvel

Yes, a curved monitor seems gimmicky but for anyone who’s ever worked with multiple monitors, it just might be the monitor of their dreams. The LG 34UC97 is a 21:9 aspect ration curved 34-inch monitor that lets you have one long display as opposed to stacking three monitors together.

Dubbing it Quad HD resolution, the monitor’s 3440 x 1440 pixel display is plenty of pixels for the discerning digital worker. And the 178 degree viewing angle is another plus point.

Look at all the pixels

Though the monitor is both PC and Mac compatible, what's interesting is that the monitor comes with Thunderbolt 2 support, which LG says is four times faster than USB 3.0 as well as allowing multiple devices to be connected together.

Other than Thunderbolt there’s also LG’s Maxx Audio  and a built-in 7W stereo speaker system

Besides the 34UC97, LG is also showing off a gaming monitor (the 24GM77) at the coming IFA 2014 as well as a 4k digital cinema monitor. The latter has a rather awe-inspiring 4096 x 2160 pixel count but it’s a 31-inch screen.

Your inhouse designer might just love it though since LG says the monitor can reproduce 99 per cent of the Adobe RGB colour space, is hardware calibration-ready and comes with LG’s own calibration software

No abundance of pixels on LG’s gaming monitor though but it does come with a pretty fast 144Hz refresh rate and a response time of less than 1ms that LG says is made possible by its Motion 240 software.

To get a closer look at these monitors, you will probably need to visit IFA 2014 at Hall 11.2 of Messe Berlin, next month. IFA is happening from September 5-10.
