Buy a Sony Xperia phone in Singapore, get S$10 off GrabTaxi rides

Besides the one-time discount, Xperia users will also get S$3 off their GrabTaxi rides till the end of the year

What happens when you have one of the more popular Southeast Asian taxi-booking mobile app partnering with a mobile device vendor? You get a bunch of taxi perks. And that’s exactly what you get with GrabTaxi’s joint venture with Sony Mobile.

The GrabTaxi app will be pre-loaded into new Sony Xperia mobile devices. On top of that, Xperia users can get discounts off their GrabTaxi rides when they make the booking on their phones.

The said discount, however, applies only to new Sony Xperia owners who purchase the phone in Singapore between now and the end of the year. Key in #ilovesonymobile in the promo code field. and you'll get a one-time S$10 discount on your GrabTaxi ride.

But there are some terms and conditions around this – for one, it’s only limited to the first 1000 redemptions, restricting the promotion to one time per customer (meaning that it will be considered as used even if you cancel your booking), in addition to others.

Even if you missed the S$10 discount, you'll still be eligible for unlimited S$3 discounts (by the end of this year) off any GrabTaxi ride – key in "#xperia" in the promo code field during your booking process. It is restricted to certain Xperia smartphone models, and is only valid for the first 100,000 redemptions.

Celebrations on the way

To celebrate the deal, GrabTaxi’s launched a contest (from 29 August to 30 September) where you’ll have to “like” the GrabTaxi Singapore Facebook page and then take a fun snap with anything green and upload it on the page with a caption and "#GrabMeLah" hashtag.

If you do so, you could be in the running to win these Sony products – an Xperia C3 smartphone and a Sony SmartBand, a Xperia T3 smartphone with a Sony SmartBand, and two winners will take home Xperia T2 Ultra smartphones. A pretty sweet deal for just having to be creative we say.
