ridiculously huge phablets. Now those, you&rsquo;ll never, ever want to stuff into the pockets of those tight skinny jeans - even if you&#39;re able to. And you can forget one-handed texting unless you&#39;re an NBA baller.</p> <p dir="ltr">The G Pro 2 is not in the same oversized league.&nbsp; This 5.9in device&rsquo;s slim bezel keeps the overall width to a manageable 81.9mm, allowing most people to handle it fairly effortlessly with one hand. Activate the Mini View by swiping left or right at the bottom of the screen and the downsized UI you get protects even the most phallangically challenged from thumb strain. Admittedly the off-skew 3.4in to 4.7in UI is a little off-putting at first, but it&#39;s darn useful, too.</p> <p dir="ltr">Though its 5.9in display crosses into the phablet region, its 172g weight doesn&rsquo;t have the heft commonly associated with phablets such as the&nbsp;<a href="http://www.stuff.tv/sg/android/sony-xperia-z-ultra/review" target="_blank">Sony Xperia Z Ultra</a>&nbsp;or even the&nbsp;<a href="http://www.stuff.tv/sg/galaxy-note-3/samsung-galaxy-note-3/review" target="_blank">Samsung Galaxy Note 3</a>. The slim 8.3mm profile is another design victory, and the ease with which it slips into your pocket makes it a real winner.</p> <p dir="ltr">Unlike the earlier G Pro&rsquo;s slippery smooth rear, the G Pro 2&rsquo;s textured design provides a much firmer grip. Its physical volume and power buttons, as with the&nbsp;<a href="http://www.stuff.tv/sg/android/lg-g2/review" target="_blank">G2</a>, are inconspicuously placed at the rear. In theory, your index finger will rest naturally on the back and instinctively reach for the buttons, but while this design worked well for the G2&rsquo;s shorter body and the&nbsp;<a href="http://www.stuff.tv/sg/g-flex/lg-g-flex/review" target="_blank">G Flex&rsquo;s</a>&nbsp;curved chassis, the flatter and lengthier G Pro 2 requires ET-like digits to be truly comfortable.</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>READ MORE:&nbsp;<a href="http://www.stuff.tv/sg/android/sony-xperia-z-ultra/review" target="_blank">Sony Xperia Z Ultra review</a></strong></p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="messages warning">This video is not currently supported.</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="900" title="It&#039;s a great way to for your thumb to do stretching exercises" alt="LG G Pro 2 review" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/LG%20G%20Pro%202%20build%2001_2.jpg?1398243767" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-2"> <div class="field-label">Image #2:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_2" width="1200" height="900" title="Small hands? Clear, detailed shots taken under bright daylight are unsurprisingly easy on the eyes, but what makes the G Pro 2 a real belter is its night time shots - the G Pro 2 allows just the right number of photons to land on the sensor with the right shutter speed lighting dim scenes brilliantly. Think Lytro, which lets you re-focus your images after you&rsquo;ve taken them. Not exactly a unique feature, since everyone&rsquo;s doing it - HTC calls it uFocus on the&nbsp;<a href="http://www.stuff.tv/sg/htc/htc-one-2/review" target="_blank">HTC One (M8)</a>&nbsp;while Samsung went with Selective Focus. But that doesn&rsquo;t make it any less fantastic, especially when you get to pass off as a competent photographer by creating selective bokeh effects to make photos more artsy.</p> <p dir="ltr">Unlike the more sophisticated, hardware-based One M8 system, though, the G Pro 2 requires distinct contrast between the foreground and background, and that means there&#39;s a definite knack to creating a distinct focus between two objects. If you&rsquo;re taking notes, here&rsquo;s another - you&rsquo;ll need steady hands. Even a slight movement in Magic Focus mode can screw up the focusing dynamics.</p> <p dir="ltr">That rear volume button also doubles as the shutter button, which seems weird until you take a selfie. Intuitively, your index finger reaches for and presses the volume up button when you hold the phone in one hand. We&#39;ll thank the 3GB of RAM for helping make this something of a multi-tasking maestro.</p> <p dir="ltr">Playing full HD movies is even more a piece of cake for this monster of a phone. We haven&#39;t spotted any frames being dropped even when apps are punching their way through the background. Web browsing is also just as speedy on LG&rsquo;s pre-loaded browser and&nbsp;<a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android.chrome" target="_blank">Google Chrome</a>&nbsp;and you&rsquo;ll probably get the Road Runner experience if you&rsquo;re on the 4G/LTE network, as we are. In short, your Instagram feed will be fully loaded before you can say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.</p> <p dir="ltr">After all of that super-slick speed it&#39;s a little surprising to see the G Pro 2 produce an&nbsp;<a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.antutu.ABenchMark" target="_blank">AnTuTu</a>&nbsp;score of just 20,679. We can&#39;t answer for that, but we can point out again that benchmarks are far from the be all and end all of power testing. What matters is the real-life performance, and the G Pro 2 performs like a peacock in mating season.</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="900" title="Not the highest benchmark score, but it&#039;s actual performance will surprise you" alt="LG G Pro 2 review" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/LG%20G%20Pro%202%20performance%2001_0.jpg?1398243767" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-2"> <div class="field-label">Image #2:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_2" width="1200" height="900" title="Not even zombies can slow the G Pro 2 down" alt="LG G Pro 2 review" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/LG%20G%20Pro%202%20performance%2002_0.jpg?1398243767" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-box-out-title"> <div class="field-label">Box Out Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> LG G Pro 2 Tech Spec </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-box-out-body-text"> <div class="field-label">Box Out Body Text:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p><strong>Operating System</strong>&nbsp;- Android 4.4</p> <p><strong>Processor</strong>&nbsp;- 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core</p> <p><strong>RAM</strong>&nbsp;- 3GB</p> <p><strong>Screen</strong>&nbsp;- 5.9in IPS+ LCD with 1920x1080 resolution (373ppi)</p> <p><strong>Camera</strong>&nbsp;- 13MP rear, 2MP front</p> <p><strong>Storage</strong>&nbsp;- 32GB internal, microSD expandability</p> <p><strong>Connectivity</strong>&nbsp;- 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+</p> <p><strong>Battery</strong>&nbsp;- 3200mAh</p> <p><strong>Dimensions</strong>&nbsp;- 157.9 x 81.9 x 8.3mm</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-5"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> OS: heavily skinned, but with some occasionally useful features </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p dir="ltr">As with many competitors, LG has been particularly guilty of wrapping Android in an overly thick skin in the past, and the G Pro 2 doesn&#39;t change things.</p> <p dir="ltr">Little touches such as Slide Aside (which lets you access up to three frequently used apps easily with a three-finger swipe) are useful, but it doesn&rsquo;t feel as intuitive or quick as Android&rsquo;s default multi-task menu.</p> <p dir="ltr">To be fair, the South Korean chaebol has thrown in a few features that work really nicely. Customising up to five shortcuts for the front touch buttons might sound insignificant, but it makes a whole lot of difference considering the G 2 Pro&rsquo;s unusually long body. The notifications shortcut, for example, is a life-saver. Instead of stretching your thumbs to pull the notifications menu down, a simple tap on the button does the trick. The same applies for the recent apps function, which is usually activated by tapping and holding onto the home button.</p> <p dir="ltr">We spent most of our time with KnockOn, tapping the display instead of hitting the rear power button to wake or sleep the device. For a while, it worked perfectly, until we noticed that the device came to life too easily whenever we grabbed the phone. At this point, we activated the new KnockCode which lets you determine where and how many knocks on the screen are required to unlock the phone. Caveman simple, but superbly, satisfyingly nerdy.</p> <p dir="ltr">Then there&#39;s Content Lock. This second layer of protection, located in the Security settings, locks and hides specified photos and videos in the gallery, and any notes within the Memo app, with another password, therefore protecting them from the prying eyes of partners, offspring and thieves.</p> <p dir="ltr">The likes of the QSlide video widget and Smart Stay (which keeps the screen alive while you stare at it) are still around and work well. Dual Browser, which splits the screen to house two apps for concurrent use, theoretically sound useful, but actually kind of defeats the purpose of viewing text and images on a generous 5.9in display.</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>READ MORE:&nbsp;<a href="http://www.stuff.tv/sg/android/android-45/review" target="_blank">Android 4.5 preview</a></strong></p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="900" title="Three apps are never a crowd, not when you can access them easily with a three-finger swipe" alt="LG G Pro 2 review" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/LG%20G%20Pro%202%20OS%2001_1.jpg?1398243767" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-2"> <div class="field-label">Image #2:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_2" width="1200" height="900" title="Need more buttons? It&#39;s light, easy to handle and fits snugly in a pocket - all rarities in the phablet world.</p> <p dir="ltr">The G Pro 2 has plenty when it comes to features, too, with KnockCode proving a particularly useful and inventive example.</p> <p dir="ltr">And on top of that it&#39;s plenty powerful, mocking its relatively small AnTuTu score by juggling mountains of apps without stutter or lag.</p> <p dir="ltr">But the battery life is a problem. You will also get a Snapdragon 801 processor, 5.5-inches of screen space with a 1080p HD display, 4G LTE and a whopping 3GB of RAM.</p> <p dir="ltr">The price for all these swoonsome specs? A mere &pound;290 (S$610) which sounds almost too good to be true.</p> <p dir="ltr">A launch is happening this week so full details will be known, though we&rsquo;re rather curious how much juice the battery has to support the heavy specs, especially in such a slim frame.</p> <p dir="ltr">The phone also comes with a variety of different snap covers, which are pretty interesting as they go from colours to different textures. Slightly puzzling though, are the cables for the phone which seem to have more in common with Apple&rsquo;s Lightning cables than the standard Android microUSB or Samsung&rsquo;s new port.</p> <p dir="ltr">If you think the phone&rsquo;s design is rather like the Oppo&rsquo;s, then your instincts would be right - its founding members are from Oppo, which explains the minimalist approach to the phone.</p> <p>Seems like the OnePlus people are pretty upbeat about the coming launch of the phone, judging by their Facebook <a href="https://www.facebook.com/oneplusofficial" target="_blank">page</a>. &ldquo; Are you ready to have your jaw drop?&rdquo; says one teaser photo. We won&rsquo;t have long to wait as the launch is in a couple of days, so expect us to keep you updated.</p> <p>[Source: <a href="http://www.techradar.com/news/phone-and-communications/mobile-phones/would-be-smartphone-giantkiller-oneplus-one-spied-for-the-first-time--1243887" target="_blank">TechRadar</a>]</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="messages warning">This video is not currently supported.</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="567" height="425" title="OnePlus One smartphone image leaked" alt="OnePlus One smartphone image leaked" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/covers.jpg?1398074419" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> </fieldset> <p><a href="http://www.stuff.tv/sg/oneplus-one-smartphone-image-leaked/news" target="_blank">read more</a></p> http://www.stuff.tv/sg/oneplus-one-smartphone-image-leaked/news#comments Smartphones Mon, 21 Apr 2014 08:43:23 +0000 Elissa Loi 1435851 at http://www.stuff.tv iCheapskate: 30 amazing free games for iPad and iPhone http://www.stuff.tv/sg/apple/icheapskate-25-amazing-free-games-ipad-and-iphone/feature <div class="field field-type-text field-field-standfirst"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> So you’ve just bought yourself a shiny new iOS device! Camera companies will start to embrace the ecosystem we have in phones, and the two will start working in partnerships.&rdquo;</p> <p>[Via: <a href="http://blog.vodafone.co.uk/2014/04/18/htc-talks-camera-tech-optical-zooming/" target="_blank">Vodafone</a>]</p> <p><strong>READ MORE: <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/sg/htc/htc-one-2/review" target="_blank">HTC One (M8) review</a></strong></p> <p><iframe frameborder="0" height="180" src="http://pages.haymarket.com/stuff_signup/enews_embed" width="300"></iframe></p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="messages warning">This video is not currently supported.</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="900" title="Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom" alt="Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/samsung-galaxy-s4-zoom_0.jpg?1397882904" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> </fieldset> <p><a href="http://www.stuff.tv/sg/htc/htc-optical-zooms-coming-smartphone-cameras-2015/news" target="_blank">read more</a></p> http://www.stuff.tv/sg/htc/htc-optical-zooms-coming-smartphone-cameras-2015/news#comments Cameras HTC Smartphones Fri, 18 Apr 2014 12:04:20 +0000 Elissa Loi 1435756 at http://www.stuff.tv Google releases standalone camera app http://www.stuff.tv/sg/google-releases-standalone-camera-app/news <div class="field field-type-text field-field-standfirst"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> New features up the ante with better usability, fancy blur </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-main-image"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_main_image" width="567" height="425" title="Google releases standalone camera app" alt="Google releases standalone camera app" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/images/news/Google%20Camera%20app.jpg?1397804054" /> </div> </div> </div> <p dir="ltr" id="docs-internal-guid-07e5e5e9-7363-31f8-3852-d4020f85c434">Remember when we said that Google was <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/sg/google-aims-selfie-crowd-upcoming-android-camera-update/news" target="_blank">updating its camera app</a>, possibly separate from an Android update? Ladies and gents, join us as we take an in-depth look&hellip;</p> <div class="field field-type-userreference field-field-byline"> <div class="field-label">Byline:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <a href="/sg/users/sam-kieldsen" title="View user profile.">Sam Kieldsen</a> </div> </div> </div> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-group-sections"><fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-0"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Design: not quite the same One </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>At first glance you could be forgiven for confusing both of these phones with their predecessors.</p> <p>The HTC One (M8) is fairly similar to the original One on the outside, the main differences being its dual lens rear camera, its dual LED flash and the on-screen buttons replacing hardware controls. As far as the body itself goes, there&#39;s more metal and less plastic, while the metal is slightly more burnished and its brushed effect more pronounced. The&nbsp;corners are also slightly more rounded. So its DNA is largely derived from the 2013 HTC One, and that&rsquo;s something everyone should be happy about, because the 2013 HTC One is simply one of the best-constructed smartphones around. That the 2014 One shares its beautifully engineered, rock-solid aluminium unibody is to its credit &ndash; and you can read more about that in <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/htc/stuff-cool-list-2013-how-htc-designed-world-s-most-desirable-phone/feature">our look at how the One was designed</a>. The One (M8) weighs 160g and is 9.4mm thick.</p> <p>The Sony Xperia Z2 has less in common with the Xperia Z1 than the One (M8) does with the One, but Sony&rsquo;s phones still bear a strong family resemblance: as with the HTC phone, the Z2 blends glass and metal near-seamlessly, and like its forebear it&rsquo;s fully sealed against water and dust &ndash; you can take the Z2 into the shower or bathtub with you for up to 30 minutes and it will not mind one little bit.</p> <p>Despite its slightly larger screen (5.2in to 5in), the Z2 is a fair bit skinnier than the HTC One (M8) at just 8.2mm in depth. It does weigh a tiny bit more however: 163g.</p> <p>Looks-wise, both phones are handsome in their own way. The One (M8) is a little brasher and bolder in its lines and use of brushed metal, and just as that might appeal to certain people, we can certainly imagine others preferring Sony&rsquo;s altogether more understated approach.</p> <p>Overall it&rsquo;s tough to call a winner before we&rsquo;ve had the chance to handle both phones on a longer-term basis. Both appear to be extremely solidly constructed (although the Sony&rsquo;s IP55/IP58 protection suggests it&rsquo;s the hardier handset) and each has its own unique appeal when it comes to design. Until we&rsquo;ve reviewed both phones fully, we&rsquo;re calling this round a draw.</p> <p><strong>Winner:</strong> Undeclared for now</p> <p><strong>READ MORE: <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/android/mwc-2014/video-sony-xperia-z2-hands-review/video">Sony Xperia Z2 hands-on video review</a></strong></p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="messages warning">This video is not currently supported.</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="900" title="HTC One (M8)" alt="Which smartphone? It uses a 20.7MP sensor that&rsquo;s physically large (1/2.3in in size) for more light-gathering capabilities. The camera features a Background Defocus mode, which takes two shots and merges them together to give the impression of a short depth of field. On the video front, it can record 4K footage (at a resolution of 3840 x 2160) or 120fps 720p footage for super slo-mo playback, and SteadyShot image stabilisation helps videos look rock solid even when your hands aren&rsquo;t.</p> <p>HTC has also put a lot of effort into the One (M8)&rsquo;s photo and video skills. As with the original One, the rear camera uses an UltraPixel sensor &ndash; in this case each pixel is 2 micrometres in size and the sensor itself is 1/3in. The number of actual megapixels is low though: just 4MP, like the original One. What it means is that low light images are less noisy and sharper, but also that you can&rsquo;t zoom in to crop your shots without them looking blocky. This time there&rsquo;s an iPhone 5s-style dual LED flash to help deliver more natural-looking skin tones and, most interestingly, a second rear camera that captures &ldquo;depth information&rdquo;; this essentially allows you to refocus shots after you&rsquo;ve taken them (a little like the <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/lytro/review">Lytro</a> camera). On the video front, there&rsquo;s 1080p but no 4K.</p> <p>On the front-facing camera, er, front, the One (M8)&rsquo;s has a 5MP sensor and 1080p video capabilities, while the Xperia Z2&rsquo;s has a 2.2MP sensor, also compatible with 1080p. The One (M8), on paper at least, is the better selfie-taking tool.</p> <p>While we&rsquo;ll wait on our Sony Xperia Z2 full review results before making a final judgement, it seems like the two handsets each offer something slightly different: in bright conditions, the Z2&rsquo;s high megapixel count should mean excellent detail in shots, while the One (M8) may well offer the best low-light performance (plus the ability to &ldquo;save&rdquo; out-of-focus images thanks to the second rear lens). The Sony also offers better video capture, and we&rsquo;re just leaning towards it as our weigh-in winner.</p> <p><strong>Winner:</strong> Sony Xperia Z2</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="900" title="HTC One (M8)&#039;s dual lens rear camera" alt="Which smartphone? We have yet to see how the Xperia Z2 copes with the same test, but its 3000mAh battery should, in theory, deliver slightly more life (even accounting for the larger screen size).</p> <p>The Z2 seems to hold a slight edge over the One (M8) thanks to its extra GB of RAM and larger capacity battery. different enough from the iPhone 5s to earn it its all-new number.</p> <p>Traditionally, &lsquo;s&rsquo; devices have kept the same design as their predecessors, with major differences appearing on the insides.</p> <p>Apple will get a lot of flak if the iPhone 6 turns out to be a 5s with faster innards, so we&rsquo;re expecting an all-new aluminium design.</p> <p>There&rsquo;s currently no indication as to what the iPhone 6 will look like, but that hasn&rsquo;t stopped artist <a href="http://www.ciccaresedesign.com/2013/10/30/iphone-air/" target="_blank">Frederico Ciccarese</a> from creating an iPad-inspired iPhone 6 render, which borrows the curved metal back and shiny chamfered edges from the <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/sg/apple/apple-ipad-5/review" target="_blank">iPad to be ludicrously thin, it&#39;s also wider and taller, supporting rumours of a larger screen.</p> <p>If true, it means the iPhone 6 will have the largest screen of any iPhone to date, letting it finally compete with its Android phablet rivals.</p> <p>Designer Martin Hajek has also created some beautiful renders based on schematics leaked by previously reliable Japanese site Macotakara.</p> <p><strong>Update 17/04/14:&nbsp;</strong>French site&nbsp;<a href="http://www.nowhereelse.fr/iphone-6-photo-batteries-96474/" target="_blank">Nowehereelse.fr</a>&nbsp;has posted spy shots of According to <a href="http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-11-10/apple-said-developing-curved-iphone-screens-enhanced-sensors.html" target="_blank">Bloomberg</a>, Apple is working on 4.7in and 5.5in iPhone models. Whether or not these are experimental&nbsp;prototypes&nbsp;or final products remains to be seen, but at least we can generally agree that, whatever the final size, the iPhone 6 will arrive with the biggest screen yet seen on an&nbsp;Apple&nbsp;smartphone.</p> <p>Not only that, but Bloomberg&#39;s source also states that the iPhone 6 will arrive with a curved glass display which &nbsp;wraps around the edge of the device. Watch out <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/sg/g-flex/lg-g-flex/review" target="_blank">LG G Flex</a> and <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/sg/android/samsung-throws-curve-ball-samsung-galaxy-round/news" target="_blank">Samsung Galaxy Round</a>.</p> <p><strong>Update 21/01/14</strong>&nbsp;Analyst Sun Changxu&nbsp;<a href="http://www.stuff.tv/sg/apple/iphones-iphones-everywhere-apple-prepping-47in-and-57in-iphone-6-june-launch/news" target="_blank">backs up</a>&nbsp;Bloomberg&#39;s claims of smaller and larger iPhone 6 variants, differing only in the specifics &ndash; apparently the larger iPhone will sport a 5.7in screen.</p> <p><strong>Update 23/01/14&nbsp;</strong>Another day, another analyst chipping in with more claims of a big-screen iPhone.
