It was a night to remember. Elated winners of the Readers’ Choice Awards and guests at Stuff’s inaugural launch event had first dibs on our biggest magazine ever in Asia

Our biggest issue of Stuff magazine, re-launched in Singapore. 20,000 votes for the Readers’ Choice Awards. Stuff.tv is now officially live.

That was the gist of the team’s launch event, held at the National Design Centre last night. Have a gander at the photo highlights, and read on to see what went down at our smashing party.

228 pages of great Stuff

Our biggest issue ever was launched yesterday, with 228 pages of the best gadget reviews, witty opinions and tech recommendations.

Hot off the press, it was a huge hit with our red carpet guests and the copies shifted like bowls of 328 Katong Laksa.

Three weeks. 20,000 votes. Our readers played a huge part in deciding the winners of the Readers’ Choice Awards, presented by Hot FM radio DJ Charmaine Yee on the night. With 10 categories to choose from, the biggest winner for the night was Apple, taking four wins for Best Smartphone, Best Tablet, Best Laptop and Gadget of the Year.

Canon was the readers’ choice for Best Camera, while food-lovers gave their votes to Hungrygowhere for Best Local App.

There’s no doubt that Samsung had the upper hand for Best TV, and Sennheiser took the throne for Best Music Gadget.

Last but not least, the coveted Best Tech Blog award was given to Paul Mah from The Tech Blogger.

No party is complete without some smashing alcohol.

Special thanks to the folks at Asia Pacific Brewery who kindly sponsored the Kirin beer, and Singapore's newest tipple Reyka Vodka for the wonderful cocktails that gave our guests even more reason to smile for the cameras.

And let’s not forget the lovely ladies, who made sure nobody was holding an empty glass.

More after the break...

DJ in the house

With Pioneer’s awesome DJ controller, our DJ Freddie Yao from X-Mini was spinning some wicked tunes for the industry crowd.

We were waiting for aspiring dancers to bust some moves, but we guess the networking and awards presentation kept them busy enough.

That stunningly beautiful Stuff award for our Readers’ Choice winners was coveted by nominees and guests alike - including Singapore's tech bloggers seen here: from left to right, Lester Chan, DKSG, Justin Ng and Joe Teh from TechieLobang.

Quick fact: each award took 25 hours to print with the Makerbot Replicator 2X 3D printer, which was on display, getting more than a few intrigued stares from everyone. Special thanks to our friends from Tinkr.

It’s a wrap

Like all great parties, it had to end.
