Early adopters of smartwatches probably bought their first generation Pebble from its website last year. But if you’re the kind that wants to physically touch a product before you plonk the cash down, your choices were limited because only a handful of brick-and-mortar stores here carried the e-paper based smartwatch.
But better late than never, because the watches are now available at more electronics retail stores, which includes:
- Digital Style
- DG Lifestyle
- EpiCentre and EpiLife
- Harvey Norman
- NuBox and Newstead Technologies

The Pebble smartwatch’s main purpose is to tell time, but the water-resistant timepiece is also a notification centre for your SMS, calls, WhatsApp and Facebook messages. Battery life is also significantly better, lasting between five to seven days while conventional smartwatches will be knocked out in half the time.
It’s available in five different colours: Jet Black, Cherry Red, Arctic White, Orange and Grey, and costs S$249 if you want to grab it from the shelves immediately. It's slightly more expensive than getting it from the Pebble online store, which costs US$150 and an additional US$25 shipping cost, which adds up to approximately S$220 based on the current exchange rate.
But hey, you can’t put a price on instant gratification because nothing is more satisfying than unboxing your purchase immediately.
There’s also the L Collection to choose from, which features a polished white exterior and interchangeable genuine cowhide leather straps in Aspen White and Midnight Black. The limited edition costs slightly more at S$279 and is available only at selected EpiCentre and EpiLife stores from 26 May to 26 June.
But if you’re gunning for the recently launched Pebble Steel, there’s no word on its availability yet. Judging from how long it took for the original Pebble to reach our shores, we’d advise you to manage your expectations.
