The problem is, your current external drive is in tip-top condition and still good to go for another 3 years or more. It'd be a shame to dump it for a new one. This new gadget from Toshiba might just be the answer you need.
It’s called the Toshiba Canvio adaptor, and it’ll add WiFi capabilities to any external hard drives you already got in hand. It’s pretty simple to use, and the best part is you won’t have to cough up a huge chunk of cash just for a new wireless hard drive.
All you have to do is to plug it into a power source, connect your drive to it, and it's now wirelessly accessible. It’s not just wireless storage that you can get out of the Canvio adapter either - you can stream video and audio too. And if you think it’ll screw with your Internet connectivity, don't worry, this little gadget’s got a Pass Through mode that lets you connect to it and the Internet simultaneously.
The Canvio Wireless Adapter is expected to ship on 3 April with a retail price of US$80 (S$102). Local availability has yet to be confirmed though.
