Is this the second gen Motorola Moto G?
Many, including us, have touted the Motorola Moto G to be one of the most bang for buck smartphones on the face of this planet, and that’s why the notion of getting a successor to it (the Motorola Moto G2) should cause a stir in the industry.
Spanish website Mellando no Android has apparently got some exclusive inside information about the refreshed Moto G – we think it’s about time we saw some leaks and rumours of a successor to the Moto G; it’s almost been a year since it was unveiled and so far, it’s only been upgraded to either include 4G capabilities or dual-SIM facilities.
At first look, the snap of the Moto G2 looks to be a rip off of the Moto E with its similar earpiece and speaker grille located on the front. Although, the Moto G2 looks to be slightly wider than the former.
Some of the unit’s specs have also been divulged – it’s claimed to have the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 as the original Moto G, an Adreno 305 GPU, 720p resolution to an unknown screen size, 8MP camera, and dual-SIM slots.
If these alleged specs are indeed true, it’s going to cause plenty of disappointment. Why? Because for one, it looks like another Moto device, and spec-wise it also doesn’t really differentiate itself from its predecessor, with the exception of a better camera.
But of course, none of this is yet set in stone and these specs might be subject to change in the coming days/weeks/months leading towards its unknown launch date. We’re hoping alterations do make themselves into Motorola’s plans for the Moto G2. We do want to be wowed just as we were with its Moto G.
