Rent Sony lenses for up to five days at an affordable price
Not sure if you should throw in your hard-earned bonus for a telephoto lens? Here’s the answer - rent the lens, try it out and buy it if it’s a good fit.
Last week, Sony announced its Lens Library scheme, allowing customers to rent lenses for Sony cameras. Rental prices start from an affordable $30 for fixed focal length lenses, to $90 for the top-end Carl Zeiss lenses for a rental period of five days. Customers can bring up to 20 lenses home at a go.
In contrast, Canon’s lens rental programme, which was announced in March, gives up to two days of usage, and is limited to two lenses. Rental prices, however, are slightly more affordable, starting from $18 per day
Both rental programmes do not require any form of deposit, though you need to sign up as a My Sony member and register your Sony camera in Singapore. The lenses are collected and returned at Sony Store, Isetan Orchard.
Canon camera users need to register for an account at Canon’s website and proceed to the Canon Imaging Academy, located at #01-09 HarbourFront Tower 1, to collect and return the lenses between 12 to 1pm on weekdays.
