It’s all about being trendy these days, especially when it comes to the unique fusion of design and wearable tech. With all the current fuss over smartwatches, we’re neglecting one of the most old school wearable tech devices (if you haven’t guessed it already, we’re talking about headphones), but not Pioneer.
Continuing the market's efforts to make headphones more fashionable, Pioneer recently teamed up with young, local designers to breathe some aesthetic life into its new Superior Club Sound headphones series. In fact, with these stylish pieces, even you can walk the runway.
Four local and three regional designers spilled their creative ideas to infuse their vision into the cans, including names such as Depression, Mash Up, POSSI-TILLY-TY, FRÜFRÜ & TIGERLILY, and PESTLE & MORTAR.
To attract the likes of youths, Pioneer also used the platform of Singapore’s recent dance festival, Radikal Forze Jam 2014, to unveil these spectacular pieces.
Pioneer Electronics AsiaCentre marketing and communications executive, Kate Tan, said the Pioneer Loves Fashion Collaboration showcase amped up the launch of the range.
“This is a perfect festival to feature our Pioneer Loves Fashion collaboration because it is all about supporting budding talents, and creating an international platform where their artistry can be appreciated,” she said.
Local fashion brand, Depression, copped the title of ‘Best Design’ for its creativity and marketability, and to mark the win, walked away with US$1000 (S$1270).
These funky pieces will be out in the market by the end of April, so you fashionistas won’t have to wait too long to get your hands on them.
