Panasonic has introduced a new 7-inch model to its range of rugged enterprise-grade tablets. True to its name, the ToughPad JT-B1 can withstand drops from up to 1.5m, and is rated to be both dust and water-resistant. What's handy is a strap at the back of the tablet that enables one-handed use.

While it runs Android 4.0, the ToughPad's hardware isn't much to shout at: it comes with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. It also has 16GB of internal storage, which can expanded by an extra 32GB via a microSD card.

The company has yet to reveal the prices for the ToughPad, though it's expected to be available from authorized resellers in August.
