Nikon outs new “compact” full-frame D750 DSLR

It’s yet another new professional-quality camera from Nikon – hope you’ve been saving those pennies

Nikon has stepped up its fight against compact system cameras, announcing a new pro-quality full-frame DSLR in a smaller body.

The company says the D750 has been designed to offer the advantages of full-frame tech – for instance better low light performance and a shorter depth of field – in a compact, lightweight and speedy body.

There’s an all-new 24.3MP full-frame sensor tied to Nikon’s EXPEED 4 image processing engine, and the camera offers a huge ISO range of 100-12800, expandable to 50-51200 as well as continuous shooting of up to 6.5fps and a 51-point autofocus system. It can also shoot 1080p movies at 60fps.

Nikon says the D750 will be available to buy from 23rd September, priced at around £1,800 body only or £2,250 with a 24-85mm lens. There’ll be another package (available at a later date, as yet TBC) with a 24-120mm lens, and that’ll set you back £2,350.
