Am I seeing double?
Nope, the incredible car’s so unique that they had to name it One twice in alphanumeric fashion to drive the point across.
So there’s only one in the world?
Ironically, no, as six will be produced. The ‘One:1’ in its name comes from the fact that it has a 1:1 power to weight ratio, which means that for every kilogram it weighs, it packs an equal amount of tyre-melting horsepower.
That means it’s either extremely light or super powerful
Ye of little faith, the Koenigsegg One:1 is both. It weighs 1340kg and puts out 1340 horsepower via its 5-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. Its lightness is due to it being clad in mostly carbon fibre from its sun visors to its wheels, as well as meticulous attention to detail right down to its titanium exhaust being 3D printed in-house. Simple physics: less weight = more speed.
I get it. It’s fast
It’s not just fast, it’s extremely fast, crazy fast even, so fast that a new word needs to be invented for fast. Purported to be able to accelerate from 0-399 kph in a matter of 20 short seconds, its face-warping speed deserves a new definition. How about warp speed? Hyperspeed? Are these all taken already?
Sounds like I will only be able to afford one sometime in the year 11011
Even if you could afford one right at this very moment, you won’t be able to get your hands on it. Every single one of the six that will be produced has already been spoken for. But you can drive it in virtual reality; the Koenigsegg One:1 is available for download in Need for Speed: Rivals.
