GoPro launches its tiniest action camera yet

The Hero 4 Session is almost too wee for words

GoPro has unveiled a new action camera, and it’s taking compactness to insane new levels.

The GoPro Hero 4 Session is 50 percent smaller and 40 percent lighter than the Hero 4 Black and Silver models, but maintains the same video options: 1080p at up to 60fps, 720p at up to 100fps and 1440p at up to 30fps. It can also take still photos at a quality of 8MP in either single, burst or time-lapse modes. The camera is waterproof to 10m (no separate housing required), ruggedised and will fit the existing range of GoPro mounts.

Control-wise, its Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity means you can hook it up to GoPro’s Smart Remote or phones and tablets running the GoPro app (available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone). Alternatively, you can hit the shutter button once to power on the camera and immediately begin recording, or give it a long press to trigger time-lapse photography.

The GoPro Hero 4 Session will be available in the UK from 12th July, priced at £329.99. Look out for our considered, in-depth review soon.
