Google Nexus 5
We all knew it was coming, and now we have official confirmation: the Google Nexus 5, running Android 4.4 KitKat, will be available from tomorrow, priced from US$349 (S$433).
5in screen, wireless charging and quad-core processor
The Nexus 5 is powered by a 2.26GHz, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and Adreno 330 GPU, backed up by 2GB of RAM. It sports a 4.95in 1080p screen with a pixel density of 445ppi, weighs 130g and is 8.6mm thick.
There’s 4G LTE support (a first for a Google Nexus phone), as well as an 8MP rear camera with optical image stabilisation and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. 16GB and 32GB storage options are available, and the 2300mAh battery gives a quoted talk time of 17 hours and standby time of up to 300 hours. Wireless charging capabilities are built-in.
Connectivity-wise, there’s microUSB, SlimPort compatibility, a 3.5mm jack, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi.
The Google Nexus 5 is priced at US$349 (S$433) for the 16GB version and US$399 ($496) for the 32GB version. Black and white colour finishes available.
