Asus is launching its device battalion in installments – just a few days back, the Taiwanese-American multi-national company made the Asus MeMO Pad 8 and Transformer Pad TF103 tablets available in Singapore, and now, it’s done the same for the ZenFone 5 and Asus Transformer Book T100.
In an attempt to appease its smartphone fan base, Asus has unveiled its ZenFone 5 smartphone locally, priced at S$249. You’ll be able to pick it up from Best Denki, Challenger and Asus brand stores from today, and if you’re after a mobile price plan with the ZenFone 5, StarHub and M1 are your go-to telco providers.
But that’s not the only places you can get the ZenFone 5 – it will be the first Asus product available on its official e-commerce store in Singapore that was just inaugurated today. This move marks the second country where Asus' online store will be operating, but only its smartphone range will be rolled out on the online platform.
The company’s offering a promotional S$219 price on its ZenFone 5 on the Asus Online Store. The red unit will be available first from today, with the black and white units to subsequently follow suit.
The Transformer Book T100
On the other hand, the Transformer Book T100 is now available at all Asus authorised stores and Asus brand stores, priced at S$599 – which might be a good bargain if you can’t decide between getting a laptop or a tablet.
Because, the ASUS Transformer Book T100 is a 10.1in ultraportable laptop, with a detachable HD 1366 x 768 display that can be used as a standalone Windows 8.1 tablet. It also features an updated Intel Atom ‘Bay-Trail’ quad-core processor, and Asus Instant On technology.
With Asus making all these tactical moves, we’re wondering what the vendor has got up its sleeves for Singapore in the near future.
UPDATED 18/07: The Transformer Book T100 will be available in white and red in Singapore from the 19 July. The white version will be available at all Asus authorised stores and Asus brand stores, while the white version will be exclusive to Best Denki.
