Apple iPhone 5S and 5C available in Singapore from 20th Sep
Expect long queues and tears of joy from Apple fanboys next week, when they lay their hands on the new iPhone 5S.
Pre-orders for the iPhone 5C will start from this Friday, 13th September via Apple's online store. If you're eyeing the iPhone 5S, keep your cursor locked on to pre-order page, which will open from 20th September.
Pricing for the iPhone 5S starts from $988 for the 16GB version, $1,148 for the 32GB version and $1,288 for the 64GB version. As per our expectations, the refreshed iPhone comes with a fingerprint sensor to unlock the device. Its dual-LED flash, one of which emits a cool light while the other blasts a warmer tone, supposedly delivers a colour balance that does not wash out flesh tones.
The iPhone 5C, starting from $848 for the 16GB version, is a tad pricier than we had expected. Nonetheless, it is still more affordable compared to its upper end sibling, and it comes in five different colours, along with six different Apple cases to choose from. Specs-wise, it's toe-to-toe with last year's iPhone 5, which explains the surprising move by Apple to discontinue the iPhone 5.
C for colours, not for cheap. But a cheap iPhone is still somewhat in sight - the two-year old iPhone 4S will still be available, albeit as an 8GB version for $588.
Pricing for the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C and 8GB iPhone 4S with a two-year contract from the SingTel, StarHub and M1 has not been announced.
