Microsoft’s Surface 2 is finally landing in Singapore on 14th March. We almost gave up hope on ever seeing it here since it was announced and launched four months ago.
The successor to Microsoft’s first in-house Windows tablet is loaded with the latest Windows 8.1 RT. Yes, RT, so you’re going to hit some roadblocks again with some of your favourite apps that refuse to run on the system.
On the upside, the tablet’s innards have been ripped out and replaced with a faster Nvidia Tegra 4 1.7GHz processor to make it a smooth criminal. It also comes in two storage variants at 32GB and 64GB, and if that isn’t enough for the hoarder in you, you also get 200GB of OneDrive storage - absolutely free for two years.
Prices for the Surface 2 are set at S$618 and S$748 for the 32GB and 64GB versions respectively. It’ll be available at authorised Surface retailers Challenger, Harvey Norman, and Newstead stores island-wide, so hold off on splurging till then. Similar to its predecessor, the Surface 2 also has accessory options, such as the S$183 Type Cover 2 and S$168 Touch Cover 2 keyboards.
