Rumour: LG’s got three new smartphones in the works

Could one of these be the next member of the F series?

It’s only been a few days since LG lifted the wraps off the LG G3 Mini (G3 Beat), and the rumour mill is already working on overdrive, speculating the upcoming gadgets the South Korean multi-national will be launching.

According to the grapevine, there’s not one, but three new LG phones being crafted behind the company’s closed doors, and they’re expected to be launched in the near future. The leak is courtesy of an import tracking website, which identified these units as entering India.

The specific models of the units weren’t identified, but rather, were recorded with product identification codes. All three smartphones are said to run on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, and from what we know now, that’s just about the only thing they’re purported to have in common.

Lots of differences

The LG D392, which sources say might be the LG F60, is claimed to have a 4.5in touchscreen with WVGA (480 x 800) resolution, a 5MP rear camera, as well as a 1.2Ghz quad-core processor aided by 4GB of internal storage and a 1GB RAM. It’s also said to provide LTE support.

The alleged LG X147 is a 4.3in unit with a WVGA touchscreen, and sports a 1.3Ghz dual-core CPU, a mere 512MB of RAM, a 1700 mAh battery, and 4GB built-in storage.

On the other hand, the last of the purported devices, the LG X132, features a 3.5in screen with WVGA display, 1GHz dual-core processor, 4GB of internal storage, a 1540 mAh battery, and just like the LG X147, is said to have just 512MB of RAM.

Considering the specs of these units, if they do get launched, they’ll probably be marketed as low-end, budget smartphones. Also, keeping in mind that they’ve already been spotted entering India, they might be launched in the next few weeks but for now, nothing’s set in stone.
