Stuff’s farewell note to Nokia

It’s with a heavy heart that we say our goodbyes to Nokia.

On 25 April, it’ll hand over the reins to Microsoft, and the iconic brand will be remembered in history books.

As we bid farewell to the Finnish company, the Stuff team share their fondest memories of their first or favourite Nokia phones.

It started with the Nokia 8210. The design was mostly similar, but the Nokia 8250 was still the smallest and lightest Nokia phone for its time. Remember those changeable Xpress-on covers? Great for making a fashion statement, but not so fun when you had to remove the cover and blow the dust away.

This wasn’t my first Nokia phone, but the 8250 is definitely my favourite. Maybe it’s the blue backlight (yes, I have a fetish for that cool colour) that drew me to it like a moth to a flame. Actually, it’s the incredibly tactile feel of the buttons, and its compact size that won my heart.
