Asus’ ZenFone 5 LTE and Transformer Book Flip land in Singapore

The company keeps surprising us with its product rollouts

Asus is on a roll when it comes to unveiling an assortment of devices this year – having just brought in the ZenFone 5 and Transformer Book T100 to Singapore recently, it’s now announced that the ZenFone 5 LTE and Transformer Book Flip has reached our shores.

The Transformer Book Flip will make its debut today at the Comex Show (it runs between 28 August and 31 August) and the taptop – it’s a laptop/tablet hybrid – will be available in a choice of either a 13.3in or 15.6in size.

This 2-in-1 device runs on Windows 8.1, is powered by the latest Intel Core processors and boasts a 360-degree rotating HD 1920 x 1080 resolution touchscreen, along with a NVIDIA GeForce GT840M graphics card with 2GB of discrete VRAM. As a tablet, it is responsive with a 10-point multi-touch capability.

The Transformer Book Flip will be priced at S$1098 for the 13.3in model, while the 15.6in i5 and i7 models will cost S$1198 and S$1398 respectively.

Faster speeds with the Asus ZenFone 5 LTE

As for the Asus ZenFone 5 LTE, it’s basically a LTE version of the ZenFone 5 3G unit – a first for the ZenFone range.

If you haven’t heard about the ZenFone 5 yet, it’s a smartphone that has a 5in HD 1280 x 720 IPS display, a 8MP PixelMaster back camera and a 2MP front snapper, up to 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM and an Adreno 305 graphics processor.

The LTE version is updated with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor and also comes with an anti-fingerprint coating and GloveTouch technology.

The ZenFone 5 LTE will come in four colours – Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red and Champagne Gold – and will be available from Best Denki, Challenger, Newstead, Asus brand stores, Asus’ official online store and Lazada from 30 August.

Prices will start from S$249 for the 1GB RAM ZenFone 5 LTE to S$299 for the 2GB RAM ZenFone 5 LTE. In addition, all three major telcos will carry the LTE device at a range of mobile price plans. Bang for buck, we’d say.
