Judging from a set of leaked images courtesy of Chinese site Digi-wo, Sony isn’t being very creative when it comes to creating a new design for its Xperia Z3.
The source has put up a few snaps of the purported Sony Xperia Z3, and it seems to look very similar to its predecessor, the Z2. The upcoming flagship smartphone apparently will sport the same style as the current model, with only a few minor changes.
Now, it’s either that Sony’s so proud of the Z2’s design that it feels only a few tweaks are required for the Z3 (because how can you perfect perfection?) or it’s putting an emphasis on the fact that looks don’t matter.
Attention to details
The alleged snaps picture the Xperia Z3 from all angles, showing that the smartphone could possibly have curved sides instead of the flat design seen on the Z2. If it’s true, this could be a game changer for those of you who like the specs of the Z2 but have been complaining of its uncomfortable hold.
The other aesthetic alteration appears to be the relocation of the speaker grille, which has been shifted slightly to the left end of the mobile device.
But the unit seems to be missing a secondary speaker – suggesting that it may not have stereo speakers like the Z2. Then again, the device could still be in the works and the feature could be added in the final design.
Otherwise, the Xperia Z3’s appearance is almost identical to the Z2. But the rumour should be taken with a pinch of salt, since another set of leaked pictures by Digi-wo show the Sony Xperia Z3 with a distinctive appearance.
For now, the Xperia Z3’s a mystery, and we’re hoping Sony surprises us when it actually launches the smartphone.
