The HTC One (E8) has (almost) landed in Singapore

HTC aims to bring the best from the One (M8) onto the E8

If you’ve read our HTC One (M8) review, you’d already know that it is one of the top smartphones unveiled this year in terms of looks and functionality. But of course, it comes at a hefty premium price of S$998.

To make the unit more affordable for users, the Taiwanese mobile manufacturer’s packed most of the One (M8)’s features into a more affordable One (E8). So if you’ve been holding out from getting the One (M8) just because of the price factor, the One (E8) could be the perfect fit for you.

There’s not much difference between the One (M8) and One (E8). The most obvious, of course, is its look. The former comes in an aluminium brushed metal form, while the latter's wrapped in polycarbonate to compromise to the cheaper price.

The other difference on the 5in unit is the back camera of the devices – the One (E8) substitutes the One (M8)’s dual camera setup with a single 13MP snapper. Some of its other features include HTC’s Motion Launch and BoomSound, a 16GB extendable memory, 5MP front facing camera, and 2GB of RAM.

Which one to pick?

You’ll also be spoilt for choice; the model comes in three colours, Polar White, Electric Crimson, and Misty Grey. The Polar White and Electric Crimson comes in a glossy finish, while the Misty Grey’s is matt.

The HTC One E8 has (almost) landed in Singapore

It will cost you S$658, much less than the One (M8), and you’ll be able to pick it up from SingTel, StarHub, M1, and selected retailers as of 26 July. StarHub and M1 will carry all three colours, but SingTel’s will only be limited to the Polar White and Electric Crimson options.

And if you wish to get the iconic HTC Dot View case for the One E8, it’ll be available in grey for S$59.

In addition, HTC’s also announced the availability of HTC Advantage in Singapore, which will enable you to keep your mobiles updated with the latest software improvements and enhancements.
