These days, we want instant everything – instant coffee, instant messages and, of course, instant karma. Now, thanks to PoGo’s tiny portable printer, we can add photos to that list.
In fact, the PoGo doesn’t even need ink cartridges, toner, ribbon or any of the normal gubbins that make printers score highly on the gadget annoyance scale.
Zero Ink
Using Polaroid’s Zink technology, the PoGo heats up the special thermal paper to develop each colour, meaning you never have to splash out on ink cartridges.
The printer connects using Bluetooth or USB to phones or cameras and chucks out a 2x3in print in under 60 seconds running on a rechargeable battery.
They’re dry to the touch as soon as they’re spat out of the little box, and you can then peel off the backing and use them as stickers. You could stick ‘em to your diary, assemble an album or even start your own personal Panini sticker book.
Little Wonder
At £100, the Pogo is cheaper than many other portable printers out there and beats them on size hands down – it’s little bigger than a first gen iPod.
The print quality isn’t the sharpest we’ve seen, but for pure convenience and, dare we say it, fun, it’s great value. Even the paper, at around 30p a sheet, is a lot cheaper than traditional instant film.
In recent years, Polaroid has busied itself with run-of-the-mill TVs and ubiquitous digital photo frames, but the PoGo could see some of the cool status inspired by its iconic instant camera seep back into the brand. How good is the Pogo? Well, we just described a printer as ‘fun’.

The PoGo is great to take to parties and events, everyone will want you to print a photo for them. However, you wont want to get too carried away. The cost of the paper will probably stop you from going too mad as a pack of 10 sheets of Zink paper will set you back £3! So at 30p per print that works out at around 6 (six!!) times more expensive than commercial photo services such as Bonusprint. But again, remember that the PoGo allows you to have your prints NOW.

I have a question for you. Do you think that by using a Polaroid photo camera, could you create a custom sticker? I'm really curious about this one.

Though it will not win votes from purist photographers, it would surely be popular among the fun crowd. Carrying this around is much better than bringing a printer around. The fact that it is instant makes it much more appealing.

This is how things have evolved. You either see a painter with a swab in his hand in front of his canvas placed on an easel or you see a high-tech artist in front of his computer, the value of the result has turned up to be almost the same. Artwork process has reached such levels of refined skills and keen professional talent that its amazing what we see coming up of their hands. No wonder why companies choose the best people to offer services of color booklet printing. It all has become art and every detail matters. I think I could get along excellent with this camera.

Perfect-On-the-Go Printer. Easy to set up & use, despite no textual instructions - pictorial guide only. One myth remains however; how long does it need charging for? Do You wait for the flashing charge-indicator to extinguish or turn constant? Well, it does neither by the next morning!? The Official site inexplicably sheds no light on charge-time either? (Polaroid, please upload PDF English instructions on the site) Acquired this device primarily to entertain the Ankle-biters on Holiday, since most are adorned with a fully spec'd Mobile before reaching the tender age of 10. Easiest method is >connect via Bluetooth >Send Image >Hey Presto - 60 seconds later, a personal 3x2inch 'Panini' sticker creation of Monumental importance is Yours... Picture Quality is more than acceptable, given the format/size & instantaneous Polaroid throw-back delivery. Cliche, I admit, but there's a Bond-esque cool-to-own desirability above all...
