Novatel’s Wireless 2352 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot is built in the same vein as 3’s excellent and affordable Mi-Fi. The idea is simple. Fire the device up and it uses 3G mobile broadband to create a Wi-Fi signal, which can be shared by up to five different devices.
That means if you’re packing an iPad, smartphone and laptop, you can surf on all three in quick-smart fashion.
Easy setup
Set up is a breeze. All you need to do is press the power button and scan for the network using your wireless-enabled gadget.
It’ll show up as Mi-Fi. Simply select and you’ll be away in no time. It pumps out B and G-standard Wi-Fi, but lacks the fastest N standard, which means things can feel sluggish compared with a top-end router at home.
Range is decent enough, covering a large room, although if you want to share this around the house, you might find you struggle picking up signal upstairs.
Review continues after the break...
Decent battery life
Battery life is ample at around four hours of active use, although the fact you can’t use its Wi-Fi skills while charging via USB is a real miss. If you need to be online for a whole working day, then you might want to take a break while it gets back to full power. This niggle aside, the Wireless 2352 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot is perfect if you want mobile broadband but don’t want to be shackled to just one device.
It’s not cheap without a SIM, coming in at just shy of £200. That said, Carphone Warehouse offers deals with both Vodafone and T-Mobile starting at just £15 a month, with the hotspot itself costing a more palatable £70 if you opt for this package.

Broadband technology has revolutionized access to the internet with fast high speed broadband access available widely across Ireland. The term broadband itself refers home broadband and more recently mobile broadband.

Nice to see that the UK carriers are starting to support MiFi/WiFi devices, with 3, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone offering MiFi or WiFi options. On of the latest offerings is the Novatel Wireless 3352 device which is offered on Orange and is has a review at http://www.mobilebroadbanddeals.mobi/orange-mobile-wifi-review

Very interesting but I can't see how it can possible be worth the money. You can pick up as 3 Mifi that does this exactly this job for free on a contract of less than £10 a month and 3 also has the best mobile broadband coverage(see http://www.uk-mobile-broadband-deals.com/mobile-wifi.php)

At last you've reviewed the Novatel Wireless 2352. This is a great bit of kit which I've been using for about 14 month, but I need to correct a point in your review regarding all day usage. You stated that, "you can't use its Wi-Fi skills while charging via USB". That is true if its connected to your computer, but using the cable supplied and connecting it to a USB in-car charger adapter will charge the device and allow you to stay connected, also using the mains charger will give the same results. If your using the device all day and want to preserve the battery you can connect the device in your vehicle, using the in-car USB connector, turn the device on to get connected then remove the battery. The mifi will stay connected all day, whilst preserving the life of the battery. This works because I use this method all the time. This is a great piece of kit -pricey yes - but it is sim-free and give you more flexibility for your Wi-Fi enabled devices when on the move....love-it!
