This tells the time in binary with two rows of LEDS – one hours, one minutes, dobbing in for the more conventional watch hands or digits. And if you can actually read the time from it, then you really are, as we say in geek-speak, “teh pwn”. You giant doofus.
If you're still puzzled, here's the secret – the top row is hours, with the little lights indicating 8, 4, 2, 1 (reading from left to right), and the bottom is minutes, with the lights representing 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1.
“Simply” memorise that, then add the digits, and bingo, you've got something almost as functional as a normal watch.
But this really isn't about telling the time. It's about making a statement. And it certainly does that. Watch out for binary watches paired with washed-out Red Dwarf T-shirts and “humorous” World of Warcraft badges at a social gathering near you...
