The Adidas_1s are the first trainers to contain a computer chip. Does this mean bionic running is finally with us? Sadly, that's still beyond these trainers, but they will make your evening jogs a whole lot more comfortable.
Using a sensor, a microprocessor and a motor, these ‘intelligent’ trainers ensure optimum cushioning throughout your run or workout. Unlike ‘stupid’ footwear, they adapt to your weight, your pace and the surface very quickly indeed.
This means that if you're running on hard concrete they'll provide some give, whereas muddy grass will see them harden up to give support. Now Wayne Rooney won’t be the only one keeping his brains in his feet.

I bought these exact trainers at an Adidas Factory outlet for £70. I figured hell yeah... what a bargain. They looked sweet, felt sweet and for a gadgeteer like myself I felt like the inspector gadget walking around with these on. That all faded about 2 weeks after I bought them. I started feeling one side not doing anything anymore... I would wear these to the office and started noticing a discernable squek and creaking sound as I walked down quiet corridors. Soon enough one or two of the people I had been showing these gadget trainer off to noticed the creaking and that was the last straw for me. I brought them back to the outlet shop (as they were gadget trainers I kept the 'special' box they came in.) I got a full refund with no reciept in hand as many and I repeat, many people have been returning these traiiners. As I had no recipet I had to settle for store credit and purchased another pair of Adidas trainer (the Adistar Walking trainers) as I was looking for chilled out comfort. They are rubbish as well. Very uncomfortable! Adidas need to go abck tot he drawing board with these and many of thier trainers.... I am now walking around in trainers that to put it simply are just not every going to be comfortable. Hey STUFF mag... any chance you can hook me up with a new pair of non- Adidas (US Size 10.5)?
