Like some sort of multinational used car salesman, Sony has made the spectacular claim that we should expect dead pixels on the PSP's LCD. We, of course, are a bit miffed

To a rousing chorus of 'no, no, you'll get that with these,' page 13 of the PSP manual states that 'Red, blue, or green spots (bright spots) or black spots (dark spots) may appear in certain locations on the LCD screen. The appearance of such spots is a normal occurrence associated with LCD screens and not a sign of malfunction. LCD screens are made using highly precise technology. However, a very small number of dark pixels or continuously lit pixels exist on each screen.' So we're to expect dead pixels, are we?

Well, in Sony's defence, it has said that if the problem persists, it will honour the terms of its warranty and replace/refurbish any errant PSPs. Still, 'a normal occurrence associated with LCD screens.' We don't think so…
