Its Wi-Fi-piloted controls and flying augmented reality gaming experience have sent our geekometers in to a frenzy in the past. But until now only Apple lovers could get in on the sweet soaring action with their iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches. That changes from now with the welcome announcement that Android, Symbian and Bada devices have been invited to the drone party.</p> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-legacy-url"> <div class="field-label">Legacy URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> /news/apps-and-games/news-nugget/parrot-ar-drone-gets-it-on-with-android </div> </div> </div> <p><a href="http://www.stuff.tv/ardrone/parrot-ar-drone-gets-it-android/news" target="_blank">read more</a></p> http://www.stuff.tv/ardrone/parrot-ar-drone-gets-it-android/news#comments AR.Drone Parrot Wed, 08 Jun 2011 11:55:05 +0000 Esat Dedezade 416646 at http://www.stuff.tv Parrot AR.Drone http://www.stuff.tv/parrot/parrot-ardrone/review <div class="field field-type-text field-field-standfirst"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> This quadricopter is mind-blowingly futuristic </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-enable-hero"> <div class="field-label">Enable hero:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Enable full width image </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-main-image"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_main_image" width="1300" height="684" alt="" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/images/news/ParrotARDrone1_2.jpg?1364298919" /> </div> <div class="field-item even"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_main_image" width="1000" height="500" alt="" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/images/news/ParrotARDrone2_2.jpg?1364298919" /> </div> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_main_image" width="1563" height="1376" alt="" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/images/news/ParrotARDrone3_2.jpg?1364298919" /> </div> <div class="field-item even"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_main_image" width="400" height="233" alt="" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/images/news/ParrotARDrone4_2.jpg?1364298919" /> </div> </div> </div> <p>This quadricopter is mind-blowingly futuristic. You control it via Wi-Fi using an iPhone, iPod touch or Android phone, and it sends live video feeds to the handset from its forward- and downward-facing cameras.</p> <p>It's better suited to outdoor use as other Wi-Fi signals can interfere with it, but then it's too big to fly indoors anyway. You steer around either by tilting your handset or using the onscreen interface, and it's impressively agile. If you relinquish control it's almost self-aware, hovering on autopilot.</p> <fieldset class="fieldgroup group-pricing"><legend>Pricing</legend><div class="field field-type-number-float field-field-test-price"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> £300.00 </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="fieldgroup group-ratings"><legend>Ratings</legend><div class="field field-type-hcmreviewrating-rating field-field-overall-rating"> <div class="field-label">Overall rating:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="hcmrating-default">8 stars</div> </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-group-sections"><legend>Review Section</legend><fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-0"><div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="messages warning">This video is not currently supported.</div> </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> </fieldset> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-verdict"> <div class="field-label">Verdict:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>This quadricopter is mind-blowingly futuristic</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-legacy-url"> <div class="field-label">Legacy URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> /review/parrot-ardrone </div> </div> </div> <p><a href="http://www.stuff.tv/parrot/parrot-ardrone/review" target="_blank">read more</a></p> http://www.stuff.tv/parrot/parrot-ardrone/review#comments AR.Drone Geek accessories Parrot Fri, 22 Oct 2010 13:49:34 +0000 Tony Horgan 420055 at http://www.stuff.tv Parrot AR.Drone quadricopter gets official launch http://www.stuff.tv/ardrone/parrot-ardrone-quadricopter-gets-official-launch/news <div class="field field-type-text field-field-standfirst"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Back in January we got our first glimpse of the AR.Drone, when it was debuted by makers Parrot at CES.Well the Avatar-esque four-bladed helicopter toy </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-main-image"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_main_image" width="356" height="236" alt="" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/images/news/1804804e0mn_0.jpg?1364403974" /> </div> </div> </div> <p>Back in January <a href="http://stuff.tv/News/CES-2010-Parrot-ARDrone-quadricopter-takes-flight/13856/" target="_blank">we got our first glimpse of the AR.Drone</a>, when it was debuted by makers Parrot at CES.</p> <p>Well the Avatar-esque four-bladed helicopter toy is nearly ready for launch, and will be formally introduced to the world on 15 June, at the E3 games expo in sunny Los Angeles.
