Fresh from their lengthy pipeline, Palm's much-leaked newbies have had their official unveiling.

On your left is the iPod-styled Z22, designed to lure technophobes into the handheld market. It's price of £80 and 160x160 pixel colour screen will certainly help, and it follows the tradition of previous Zires by being light (96g) and user-friendly. With a 200Mhz Samsung processor and 32MB internal memory, it'll store all the usual PIM information, plus digital photos via some included software.

The TX (on the right) is effectively a Tungsten T5 with a dash of paint and a Wi-Fi module. With Bluetooth too, it offers good connectivity for e-mail, web-surfing and downloading documents, at a decent price of £230. It's powered by a 312Mhz processor which, coupled with the 320x480 pixel screen, means it could double as an Archos-style media player. The software's good too, with Avvenu for viewing and downloading documents left on desktops at work, and Dataviz for editing Word, Excel and Powerpoint files.

It your wallet fingers are already itching, you can buy both now from Palm's online store here.
