Remember that bizarre bike accessory with the built-in Samsung Tab 10.1 holder? Well, it would appear that French carmakers Peugeot also thinks it a grand idea to marry a bike with a practical gadget holder – so has crafted its very own concept version, dubbed the DL122 urban bike.
In a similar manner to its Samsung-shaped counterpart, it features a built-in compartment between the walls of its frame for laptops, briefcases and documents – which can all be locked into place for better protection.
Peugeot reckons it has equipped the bike with the right ingredients to maintain the perfect balncing act. So, unlike those bikes which feature a frilly basket at the front or rear carriers for storage, Peugeot claims the DL122 urban bike executes better balance for the rider by maintaining the site of the centre of gravity for better manoeuvrability when fully loaded.
Composed of a wood and aluminium frame, leather saddle, 20in wheels and an 8-speed hub, the DL122 looks a bit like the GoCycle – the cool electric bike we fell in love with once upon a time.
It goes without saying Peugeot's rethinking of the traditional urban bike isn't going to be to everyone's tastes – but we're sure there'll be enough modern day office commuters out there who will appreciate Peugeot's out-of-the-box thinking to ensure it goes into production.
