Ouya console to feature OnLive at launch

The exciting Android console will soon be leaving Kickstarter for reality – and OnLive’s huge gaming library is coming with it

Ouya, the Android gaming console, is set to feature OnLive's massive library of streamed games, with the announcement that the OnLive app will work on the console at launch.

The hackable Android console broke a Kickstarter record for the biggest first day of funding, so you know it’s popular – to the tune of US$5.5m on Kickstarter at the time of writing. But naysayers have pointed out that Ouya will only have Android gaming titles to draw on – and there's a bit of a dearth of console-quality Android titles. However, compatibility with OnLive's Android app opens Ouya up to OnLive's library of A-list titles – including Arkham City and Saints Row: The Third.

The Tegra 3-powered Ouya console comes with 8GB storage, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth – packed in a box the size of a Rubik's Cube – plus a single controller with built-in touch sensor. And with OnLive’s software backing, featuring hundreds of top games, this US$100 console is going to be a winner. Have you chipped in for your Ouya yet? Let us know on Twitter.
