Wii U’s controller is officially playing solo

Ninty limits us to one fancy controller per Wii U console in an effort to save our cash

Nintendo’s president Satoru Iwata has confirmed that their new console aims to only support one Wii U controller. Although the console itself has enough power to support multiple touchscreen controllers, it would seem that Ninty are hoping to save our wallets from taking a battering and we don’t blame them – we’d dread to think how much a fancy controller with a 6.2in touchscreen would set us back.

Nevertheless, we expect quite a few hardcore joystick twizzlers will take this news rather badly, although multiplayer compatibility with existing Wii controllers  should hopefully  convince them to lay down their torches and pitchforks.
