Either way, the sample will need to be less than 10 metres in size. After that, NASA&rsquo;s plan is to redirect the asteroid into orbit around the Earth, at which point astronauts will be able to take samples and study it (as visualized above).&nbsp;</p> <p>Sounds like science fiction, right? If NASA has its way, it&rsquo;ll be science fact before long. Right.</p> <p>Attendees of the roundtable on Twitter have likened the initial footage and details to the recent (and very well received) XCOM series reboot, and with Nintendo&rsquo;s upcoming 3DS lineup looking rather sparse, this at least gives us something to look forward to for it in 2015.</p> <p>Check out <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/electronic-arts/e3-2014-biggest-video-game-news-so-far/feature">our E3 2014 news hub</a> for the rest of the week&#39;s prominent announcements and updates.</p> <p>[Source: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2014/06/11/nintendos-new-ip-pits-abraham-lincoln-against-aliens/">Joystiq</a>]</p> <p><strong>READ MORE: <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/2ds/nintendo-2ds/review">Nintendo 2DS review</a></strong></p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="messages warning">This video is not currently supported.</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="900" title="Code Name: S.T.E.A.M." alt="Code Name: S.T.E.A.M." src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/codename-steam.jpg?1402555722" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-2"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Outlook Web App native app released for Android </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>Following through on a promise from a couple months back, Microsoft yesterday released its Outlook Web App for Android. It&rsquo;s looking incredible and will be released next year.</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="messages warning">This video is not currently supported.</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="604" height="453" title="Zelda for Wii U: that&#039;s a big old world" alt="Zelda for Wii U: that&#039;s a big old world" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/legendofzelda-wiiu_0.jpg?1402675185" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-7"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Ubisoft </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>Third-party powerhouse Ubisoft has already announced plans to show off <em>Far Cry 4</em> for the first time at its E3 press conference (scheduled for 11pm UK time on Monday 9th June), and it&rsquo;ll be flanked by <em><a href="http://www.stuff.tv/detaiuls-next-assassins-creed-game-have-leaked-and-its-called-unity/news">Assassin&rsquo;s Creed: Unity</a></em>, the French Revolution-set new-gen and PC entry.</p> <p>Rumors of a separate <em>Assassin&rsquo;s Creed</em> game for last-gen consoles could produce an interesting E3 result, otherwise we&rsquo;ll no doubt see open-world racer <em>The Crew</em> and the recently delayed <em>Tom Clancy&rsquo;s The Divisio</em>n, which is now set to launch in 2015.</p> <p><strong>Update 09/06/2014:</strong> A banner advertising <em>Assassin&#39;s Creed: Unity</em> at E3 hints at the game featuring four player co-op, <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-06-08-looks-like-assassins-creed-unity-has-four-player-co-op">reports Eurogamer</a>. Most notably, the company plans to launch the Nintendo Figurine Platform for both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.</p> <p class="p1">Like Skylanders and Disney Infinity, the platform will utilize plastic toys with embedded NFC chips, which can communicate with compatible games. Nintendo intends to offer numerous titles that utilize the same figures, which can be read with the Wii U GamePad or a new infrared reader for 3DS. The platform is expected to launch on Wii U later this year and 3DS in 2015.</p> <p class="p1">Expect more details on the Nintendo Figurine Platform at the E3 conference next month. The reason it&#39;s under scrutiny right now is that proposals under review by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) threaten to jeopardise net neutrality by allowing ISPs to throttle or block access to certain sites and services and speed up access to others, effectively creating walled gardens for their users or forcing them to pay extra for access they currently take for granted.&nbsp;</p> <p>An example might be an ISP with a commercial tie-up with Amazon that has a vested interest in slowing Netflix speeds to a crawl, thus dissuading you from using the service. Apply such a principle to other sites and services - Spotify, Sky Now, Stuff.tv - and you have a web that seems a much worse place to be. It would be a jump back to the bad old days of WAP and 3G, whee you could only access movie news if it was Orange-branded movie news (for example).</p> <p>Granted, these proposals are a US concern, and a greater issue for US citizens as their choice of braodband providers is heavily restricted compared to the UK&#39;s (for many, it&#39;s Comcast or naught). But the last thing we need is a precedent to be set whereby we&#39;re forced to choose our own broadband providers based on whether they&#39;ll let us watch HD videos on Youtube or not.</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-2"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Izitru helps detect doctored photos </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p class="p1">If a photo on the Internet seems too good to be true, then it most likely is&mdash;thanks to the incredible proliferation and ease of use of programs like Photoshop. Given that these games sell for proper money&mdash;the polar opposite of smartphone offerings&mdash;these numbers aren&#39;t to be sniffed at.</p> <p class="p1">[Source:&nbsp;<a href="http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2014/140507e.pdf" target="_blank">Nintendo</a>&nbsp;via&nbsp;<a href="http://www.polygon.com/2014/5/7/5690124/nintendo-posts-456-million-annual-operating-loss" target="_blank">Polygon</a>]</p> <p><strong>READ MORE:&nbsp;<a href="http://www.stuff.tv/wii-u/nintendo-wii-u-5-best-games-2013/feature" target="_blank">The 5 best Nintendo Wii U games so far</a></strong></p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="messages warning">This video is not currently supported.</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-box-out-title"> <div class="field-label">Box Out Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Analysis: Don&#039;t count Nintendo out </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-box-out-body-text"> <div class="field-label">Box Out Body Text:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p class="p1">Some have speculated that Nintendo will follow the path of Sega and focus on making software for competitors&rsquo; consoles, but that seems unlikely. They&rsquo;d warned Nintendo that offering &lsquo;free&rsquo; demos or mini-games on iOS or Android would be pointless, given that people into freebies burn through free content and then merely seek out more free content, rather than immediately popping out to buy some new hardware and plastic games cartridges. They&rsquo;d urged caution based on what had become of Sega and Namco, both once proud companies now reduced to whoring out old properties and packing them full of freemium nastiness and in-app purchases.</p> <p>And now Nintendo is irreversibly caught in the quagmire, never to be the same again.</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="1200" height="900" title="Nintendo on iOS" alt="Nintendo on iOS" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/nintendo-mobile-04.jpg?1391698174" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-2"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>Naturally, though, because a large number of smartphone gamers have no taste and seemingly hate up-front purchases but are happy to waste small fortunes on IAP, New New Super Mario Bros. hits number one on Google Play and in the &lsquo;most grossing&rsquo; There&rsquo;ll be 60GB and 300GB versions, and support for Wii U discs, 3DS cards and new Nintendo optical disc format called HVD.</p> <p>Even Gaminrealm, the site that reported this rumour, urges its readers to take the story with &ldquo;a grain of salt&rdquo; and we would suggest you do the same.
