Nikon has pulled the covers off the brand spanking S8000, the skinniest wide angle 10x zoom camera on the market.

As one of the leaders of the pack of seven cameras announced from Nikon's camp today, the S8000 comes packing 14.2 megapixels, 10x optical zoom and 720p 30fps HD video capture in a body just 27.3mm thick.

The camera also crams in four anti-blur functions, sensitivity up to ISO 3200 for low-light snaps and an autofocus system up to the standard of that on a DSLR.

Once you've taken your snaps, you can watch them back on the 3-inch screen, and even adjust things such as brightness, saturation and colour tone on the camera without the need of your PC.

With a 26x zoom, the 10.3 megapixel snapper captures full 1080p HD video with the touch of a dedicated video button, promises good low-light snaps thanks to its back illumination CMOS image sensor and benefits from a 3-inch vari-angle LCD display.

You'll also get five built-in anti-blur settings for getting clear shots, even when snapping moving subjects.

The Coolpix P100 will hits shelves in March for £349.99, while the S8000 will be available this month for £249.99 in a choice of black, brown or silver.
