Sony NEX-7 release is delayed

We'll have to be patient for the 24.3MP interchangeable lens camera

Sony has announced the first gadget shake-up caused by the floods in South East Asia as the upcoming Sony NEX-7. Two out of three Sony factories in Thailand have been destroyed – which means that we won't get the November release we were hoping for.

The NEX-7 packs an impressive 24.3MP APS-C sensor and Sony claims a shutter lag of just 0.2 seconds. The super-speedy Alpha A65, with 10fps burst shooting, is another camera set for a delayed release date but Sony hasn't given any estimates on production schedules just yet.

Lots of other tech companies manufacture products in Thailand, including Nikon, Western Digital and Seagate – but we don't advise rushing to Currys to bulk buy for a winter without gadgets just yet.
