Live 24-hour unedited Stuff TV might be closer than you think. YouTube has announced its new beta YouTube Live page for selected users to stream content from live events. Luckily for human sanity and those who stopped thinking cat videos were funny in 2006, the service will be limited to a handful (if you can call a few thousand a handful) of active video makers of "good standing". Homepage notifications for subscribers to live-streaming channels are a nice touch, too.
The potential is for channels streaming content 24/7 in the style of one-offs from the live webcast of Arcade Fire in New York last summer to this year’s YouTube interview with President Obama. Hopefully less of those cat-obsessed users who shouldn’t be armed with a TV channel.
