The Nike+iPod training system isn't designed to be used with any old trainers. That's fairly obvious, otherwise it'd just be +iPod. But what if you want to try it out with your comfy Asics? This cheeky gizmo from SwitchEasy could sort you out.
The Runaway Anyshoe Adaptor lets you use the system without splashing out £65 on Nike's Moires, which will please Nike no end. Rather than carving a hole in your trainers' soles for the sensor, you can attach the $8 splash-proof holder to the laces using the 'twist and lock' mechanism. Well, it beats the velcro and sellotape suggestions circling the web.
I've actually just started testing the Nike+iPod system (with the official Moire trainers) and my first impressions are very good. It's accurate after a little calibration, fun to use and the Nike+ site, where you upload your stats, is far and away the best online training log I've seen.
