So you've had fun with the Wii but now Halo, Burnout and Grand Theft Auto are calling you. Well, Microsoft's just made it that bit easier to invest in some next-gen gaming gear.
As of Friday, an Arcade edition of the Xbox 360, complete with five (ahem) 'classic' games, such as (cough) pacman is a mere £160. That makes it the cheapest of all the three main console contenders - £20 cheaper than the Wii and £140 cheaper than the 40GB PS3.
For the full 360 experience you'll still want to step up to the mid-range model - now just known simply as Xbox 360 - which gets the wireless controller and 20GB hard drive of the old Premium for a still pocket pleasing £200.
The 120GB Elite's tumbled in price too - now £260, down from £300. Course, there's now no HD drive to go up against the PS3's Blu-Ray but there is the option of downloading HD movies and, if comments from Microsoft big-cheese, Steve Ballmer, are anything to go by, a Blu-Ray add-on might not be far off either.
