Icon – Asus RT N66U

Is that what I think it is?
Well, if you're familiar with the good lucks and data-shifting charm of the Asus RT N66U, then yeah, it's exactly what you were thinking: the new wireless, dual band router from Asus with Black Diamond design. Doesn't it look dark and mysterious with a hint of danger?

Danger isn't what I usually look for in my electronics.
The RT N66U would be more likely to take you out for a spin on a motorcycle than get you into a movie-streaming pickle. Asus' new top-end router should deliver Wi-Fi speeds of up to 450Mbps on its 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands – plus it comes with two USB 2.0 ports to connect to hard drives and printers.

I've heard fancy routers can be mighty pricey.
You can get the outgoing model, the RT N56U, for around £80 these days but we haven't had word just yet from Asus on UK pricing and availability for the new kid in town. Just think, though – what other router would look so good next to the rest of your shiny home gadgets?
