Watch the Huawei P8 launch event from 3pm

The Chinese giant's new flagship smartphone will be unveiled this afternoon - and you can watch it here

Barely a week goes by at the moment without the launch of a hot new smartphone and today it’s Huawei’s turn to lift the lid on its new flagship.

The Huawei P8 will be unveiled at an event in London from 3pm and you can watch it here with us – just scroll down the page for a livestream from the launch.

Not that much is known about the P8 yet but it’s likely to improve on the specs of its predecessor the P7. Given that the P7 had a quad-core 1.9GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, 5in 1080p screen and 13MP camera, that bodes well for the P8.

We’re going to make one prediction about the device though: namely that it’ll have some kind of clever camera trickery built in to it. Our source? Huawei’s been running a teaser trailer entitled "Capture the wonder of light".

We’ll find out one way or the other very shortly and will bring you all the details as we get them.
