Vodafone has dangled a rather juicy piece of bait in front of prospective PAYG customers by announcing a free weekend calls and texts offer.
Starting last Saturday – when everyone was still excitedly texting about the World Cup, sniff – Pay As You Talk customers spending more than £5 per week will get free calls and texts to any UK network from 7.30pm on Friday until Sunday night.
If you’re only spending £2.50 per week, Vodafone will still give you the free texts, as long as you’re on a PAYG mobile such as the lovely Sony Ericsson V600i.
While other tariffs have plenty of other offers to reel you in, this is one of the first to reward PAYGers on a weekly basis. Orange will give you 300 free texts if you’re spending £10 per month, while O2 has a lengthy list of monthly ‘bolt-ons’.
Vodafone’s weekly offer, though, can also be combined with its other monthly freebies, such as ‘Stop The Clock’ which charges you for only three minutes of a one-hour call. Check out Vodafone’s site for more info.
