Naim UnitiLite brings all-in-one musical luxury to (more of) the masses
High-end British hi-fi brand Naim has just announced a new addition to its Uniti range at the suitably fancy Top Audio Video Show in Milan.
The best news is that the UnitiLite is essentially a more affordable version of the standard (and superb, according to our review) Uniti. It’s over £1000 more affordable, in fact, but it still manages to combine network playback of ultra high-res audio files (right up to 32bit/192kHz) and internet radio with a CD drive for those still clinging on to those old-fashioned physical discs. Whatever you play is then amplified onboard to 50W per channel and pumped out to whichever speakers you’ve connected it to.
Admittedly that disc drive has a slightly generic loading tray, rather than the charming, heavy-duty manual drawer of its bigger brother, but at least Naim decided against going for snazzy colours and stuck with its traditional none-more-black matte finish.
As with the rest of the Uniti range the UnitiLite can be controlled with the bundled remote or the far snazzier n-Stream app for iOS devices.
At £1650 the UnitiLite is designed to open the Uniti range up to a whole new audience. Is it worth it? We’ll be getting our ears on Naim’s new kit imminently to find out.

This is incredibly cheap. Only £225 more than the shoe box UnitiQute and that doesn't have the CD player and is less powerful. A bargain. Don't be surprised if they have gone up before Christmas rather than the traditional April date. Tell your boss you need the overtime and get one ASAP.
