Toshiba T110 and T130 announced – thin, light and affordable

We've seen a number of manufacturers break in to the ultra-portable laptop market this year and Toshiba has just become the latest, with the launch of

Offering all the functionality of a laptop with the portability of a netbook, the two Tosh newbies come in at 22.2mm at their thinnest point, with the T110 weighing just 1.58kg and the T130, 1.76kg.

As for screen size, the T110 will be the smaller of the two with a compact 11.6-inch display, or for those looking for something a little bigger, the T130 will be 13.3 inches, the same as the smallest MacBook.

Depending on which model you go for, there's a choice of Intel ultra low voltage processors for up to a whopping eleven hours of battery life on a single charge, and you'll be able to get up to 3GB DDR3 of RAM and 250GB of hard drive space on the T110, and 4GB DDR3 and 500GB on the T130.

Both models will benefit from LED backlit 16:9 widescreen displays, multi-touch control pads, integrated webcams and Bluetooth. You'll also get three USB ports and an HDMI point for keeping you connected.

The laptops will be available in Precious Black and Iron Red Metallic, with the T130 also available in a Mac-esque Luxe White Pearl.
