Toshiba is the latest company to offer up a pocket-sized HD camcorder – and this one is clearly designed with the beach or swimming pool in mind. The Toshiba Camileo BW10 snaffles up 1080p HD footage, but the cruncher is it can do it underwater.

You can take the rubber-clad BW10 up to two metres below the surface for some sub-aqua shooting, and it’s also designed to resist shocks, dust and sand.

Footage is 30fps, and there’s a 10x digital zoom and maximum ISO 1600 setting for better low light performance. You can also capture stills at 5-megapixel quality. There’s no built-in storage, but it’ll accept SD cards up to 64GB in capacity, and squirt footage direct to your HDTV via HDMI link-up.

The Camileo BW10 will be available in late June for around £130, and in silver, turquoise and yellow colour finishes.
