TFL puts the kibosh on Tube calls

Plans for London Underground mobile network are dropped to save cash (and punch-ups). Wi-Fi still incoming

Plans to have a mobile network installed on the Underground by the 2012 Olympics have been binned due to cash shortages. Disappointing news, but also a veritable Godsend. No one wants to hear about that odd-looking rash or the latest gossip from the office on their commute. Plans for Wi-Fi installations at 120 stations still have the green light however, meaning we can download apps to notify us of delays and closures in real-time at the actual station. Brilliant.
