Surrey Police announce vehicle thefts on Twitter

‘Ello ello ello, what do we have here then?

Surrey Police will commence posting each and every case of vehicle theft on its Twitter feed from today in a bid to cut down crime via the power of awareness. As well as tweeting various thefts, the feed is also committed to offering safety and security advice as well as answering messages from the public.

Whether you see this as a useful crusade or a tool that can be used by criminals to help gage the ‘heat’ of a particular area, there’s no denying that Twitter is an unstoppable force that shows no signs of slowing in its dominion of our lives. Now if you’ll excuse us, we’re just going to make sure our McLaren MP4 is safe and secure – one can’t be too careful these days.
