Asia gets "Ice Silver" PS Vita
The impending release of the PlayStation 4 may be getting all the attention at the moment, but Sony's not forgotten its pocket-sized PlayStation, the PS Vita. The handheld – which has reportedly lent its touch-panel control setup to the PS4 – is coming out in Asia in a new Ice Silver finish. No word on whether the blinged-out console will be released in the rest of the world – but as with the red and blue PS3 Super Slims, it's likely that a global release will follow the Vita's Asian rollout.

Amazon has slashed the price of its entry-level Kindle e-book reader – for one day only. For the reasonably wallet-friendly price of a smidge under £60, you can plough your way through page after page of beautifully written narratives, wonderfully informative prose and spine-chilling thrillers – or Fifty Shades of Grey. Office Cat will not judge you. The offer ends at 12 midnight, so best to head on over to Amazon now if the temporary sale price proves too difficult to resist.

HP Pavilion Chromebook lands in US
HP has released the Pavilion 14 Chromebook in the US, priced at US$330, with a whopping 14in, 1366X768 screen – the largest Chromebook display to date. Your dollars will also net you a 1.1GHz Intel Celeron processor along with 2GB of RAM and a 16GB SSD – and a claimed battery life of 4hours and 15 minutes. Connectivity options include HDMI, SD and three USB 2.0 connections, plus an ethernet port. A UK release date and price has yet to be announced – Office Cat hopes HP gets a move on, he's looking forward to sitting on that sizeable keyboard.
