Stuff Office Cat's diary – 30/11/12

Deadmau5 lights up for Nokia
Office cat found himself sauntering along to a Nokia event on Wednesday night where the main attraction was a giant mouse with a disproportionately large head blasting out music to celebrate the Nokia Lumia 920. He rather enjoyed himself too, despite the vast feline/mouse cultural divide. And not one word about the blurry picture above. It's hard work operating an SLR without opposable thumbs.
Microsoft Surface Pro priced
The Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 Pro has been priced at a gut-busting US$900 and US$1000 for the 64GB and 128GB models respectively. Office Cat might not be in the market for a tablet (given their incompatibility with claws) but even he can see that that's a ludicrous price tag. For that money you could snap up a formidable laptop or a decent gaming rig. Or six months' worth of Whiskas.

Appy Christmas
iOS and Android owners can look forward to 25 free Christmas apps from the first of December, courtesy of the Advent 2012: 25 Christmas Apps app which serves up a free 4/5 star download every day in the run up to turkey and presents day. More practical than a bird in a pear tree, don't you think?
