If you enjoyed Stuff's smart bulbs round-up – but don't fancy replacing every bulb in your house – the Spark Kickstarter project turns all your current house bulbs into Wi-Fi controlled smart lights. It even lets you set alarms for gently illuminating wake up lights. But at US$50 (£31) it’s not particularly cheap.

Minecraft on Raspberry Pi
When Minecraft lands on Raspberry Pi in the coming weeks, it’ll open up the world to a new level of hackability. You’ll be able to open the code and use programming language to manipulate the game world – effectively teaching you coding while gaming. Office Cat can't wait to start tinkering – and bringing his creations to life with the new Minecraft Reality app.
